About Petrostrat
PetroStrat provides integrated geoscience services to the energy industry, specialising in biostratigraphy and sedimentology. Services include post-well and real-time wellsite biostratigraphy, reservoir geology and quantitative sedimentology, rock and microfossil sample processing and analysis in its in-house laboratory, carbon storage assessment, and exploration evaluation. It also offers full-service palaeontology, covering micropalaeontology, nannopalaeontology and palynology.
Its customers are energy industry operators, and its laboratory services also serve construction and academia. Several oil companies, including Shell, BP, Statoil, ENI, Chevron and Hess, have audited its laboratories.
The company was founded in 2001 and is headquartered in Conwy, North Wales, where its laboratories are located. It also has offices in St Albans, Northwich, Mandeville, Houston, Calgary and Abu Dhabi. In 2022 it acquired Paleo-Data, a provider of foraminifera and calcareous nannofossil biostratigraphic data.
