About Petios
Petios builds veterinary communications software that transfers information electronically between a vet practice's practice management system (PMS) and other veterinary IT systems. Its services are eClaims, which sends claims data to insurers; microchip registrations, which pass client and pet details to chip providers; and lab reports, which send report requests and return results to the PMS.
The customers are vet practices, PMS providers, microchip providers and laboratories. Vet practices use the services free of charge. The company states that it no longer provides services to new insurance businesses and will continue to serve lab and microchip companies.
The company is based in Guildford, UK. Its origins are the VetEnvoy software, established in 2005. Allianz Holdings PLC acquired Petios Limited, formerly Vet Envoy Limited, in 2017. The company launched the Petios platform as a software-as-a-service product in 2025 and states that it has connected with all corporate vet groups and over 75% of independent vet practices.
