About Ostrom
Ostrom sells green electricity to households in Germany and manages the contract through its app. Its tariffs include variable (SimplyFair), fixed 12- or 24-month (SimplyFair12/24) and hourly-priced dynamic (SimplyDynamic) options. The app covers usage tracking, meter readings, invoices, smart devices and English-language chat support.
Its customers are private electricity consumers in Germany, and the website names EV, heat pump and battery-system owners as a target group. Revenue comes from electricity supply contracts, and the site also offers smart-home products through an Ostrom Store and an EV charging and virtual power plant service called NeoGrid.
Ostrom was founded in January 2021 by Matthias Martensen and Karl Villanueva and is headquartered in Berlin. The company says it works with partner grid operators across Germany and that its careers page lists open roles in Berlin and remote, including C&I Sales Lead, Trading Infrastructure Engineer and Head of Marketing.
Product: Green electricity tariffs (SimplyFair, SimplyFair12/24, SimplyDynamic) managed in the Ostrom app, plus smart-meter, EV charging and NeoGrid virtual power plant services.
