About Opsydia
Opsydia develops adaptive optics direct laser writing technology, which uses ultrafast laser pulses to fabricate nano-scale passive and active structures in transparent materials such as optical glass and diamond. Its systems are sold as commercial equipment for product development and low-batch processing, and, together with partners, for high-throughput environments.
The technology is aimed at optical connectivity and packaging for semiconductor, AI and computing applications. Opsydia also describes diamond-based devices, such as nitrogen-vacancy centres for quantum and sensor applications, as being in the research and development phase.
Opsydia spun out of the University of Oxford in 2017, based on the research of Prof. Martin Booth and Prof. Patrick Salter. Its head office is at Begbroke Science Park in Begbroke, Oxfordshire, United Kingdom. The company has an open general applications route for engineers and scientists in Oxford.
