About Olfactomics

Olfactomics is a deeptech company that develops gas-sensing solutions for medical and industrial applications, based on differential ion mobility spectrometry (DMS) and semiconductor sensors. Its products include Ionvision, an ultrasensitive differential ion mobility spectrometer for industrial analytics; the Smart Battery Sensor, a turnkey IoT solution for early detection of thermal runaway in Li-Ion batteries; and Resect, a system for surgical margin assessment.

The company serves industrial and medical users in safety- and quality-critical applications. Its Ionvision system has been demonstrated with the leak testing and automation company Zeltwanger, and the Smart Battery Sensor was developed together with Kuusakoski.

Olfactomics was founded in 2015 as a university spin-off and is headquartered in Tampere, Finland. Its team includes physicians, engineers and data scientists. The company has published open-access research on DMS applications, including tissue identification, honey analysis and IDH mutation detection in glioma organoids.
