oldthing.de

oldthing operates an online marketplace for antiques, collectibles, vintage and antique furniture, and historical items. All sales are at fixed prices, with no auction format. Main categories include postcards, stamps, books and magazines, antique furniture, and art and antiques.

Sellers are mainly professional dealers and experienced collectors, although private individuals selling their own collections are also admitted. Sellers run a store on the marketplace and pay store fees. Occasional sellers can list up to 10 items free of charge in a promotion store for three months. Buyers are collectors and antique lovers. Transactions up to 250 euros are covered by an in-house buyer protection.

The company was founded in 2001 and is headquartered in Berlin. The website states it lists 10 million items and 450 professional sellers. It was first a booking portal for Berlin antique and collectors' markets and was expanded into a marketplace in 2003. In 2021 it added multilingual support and separate sites for the USA, Canada, Australia, England, France and Poland.
