About Occitanie Geotex
Occitanie Geotex designs and manufactures biobased geotextiles and anti-erosion nets made from 100% hemp fibres produced in Occitanie. The range includes mulching geotextiles for weed suppression and soil moisture retention, reinforced geotextiles with a hemp-wool net and hemp nonwoven for temporary site access and layer separation, and hemp anti-erosion nets for slopes, ditches and sensitive areas.
The products are aimed at soil protection, landscaping and public works, and the mulching geotextile is also offered for agricultural use. Hemp is grown with partner farmers, and the company states that 4,000 hectares of hemp are planted and harvested for it each year.
The company was founded in 2023 and is based in Lavelanet (Ariège). Its production plant is in Laroque d'Olmes, in the historic textile basin of Ariège, where the company states that 96% of process water is recycled.
Product: Biobased 100% hemp geotextiles (mulching, reinforced) and anti-erosion hemp nets for soil protection and landscaping.
