About Nicoustic

Nicoustic develops sensor technology for non-intrusive level measurement in vessels containing liquids and solids. Its sensors use Guided Elastic Waves and mount on the outside of the tank wall; measurement of emulsion and foam interface layers is under development.

The technology is intended for oil and gas operators and other industrial users of process vessels. The company reports that its prototype is undergoing field testing on Equinor’s Snorre A offshore platform, with research and development supported by operator companies through a Joint Industry Project.

NICOUSTIC AS was founded in 2022 and is headquartered in Trondheim, Norway. Its technology builds on applied research at Fraunhofer IKTS and is being developed for onshore and offshore facilities.
