About Nathan Peter Levinson Stiftung
The Nathan Peter Levinson Stiftung is a religious community foundation that runs academic training for liberal (Reform) and conservative (Masorti) rabbis and cantors. It operates three seminars: the Abraham J. Heschel Seminar for conservative rabbis, the Regina Jonas Seminar for liberal rabbis, and the Louis Lewandowski Seminar for cantors.
Its customers are students enrolled in these seminars. The studies are integrated into the BA and MA programmes of the School of Jewish Theology at the University of Potsdam, and the website does not describe a commercial revenue model.
The foundation was founded in 2024 and its training process began in October 2024. It is based in Potsdam and is an An-Institut (affiliated institute) of the University of Potsdam, with the agreement signed in 2026. The website also mentions a planned cooperation with the Hochschule für Jüdische Studien Heidelberg and a "Lehrhaus Berlin" event series in Berlin. It is currently advertising a rabbinical leadership position (m/w/d) in Potsdam and accepting applications for the 2026/2027 winter semester.
Product: Academic rabbinical and cantorial training through three seminars affiliated with the University of Potsdam.
