About Nanoco Technologies
Nanoco develops, licenses and manufactures quantum dots (QDs) and other nanomaterials with tuned optical and electronic properties. Its product lines include infrared-absorbing HEATWAVE® QDs for image sensing and visible light-emitting CFQD® QDs for displays, photovoltaics, lighting and photonic technologies. The materials are cadmium-free and are produced using a patented "molecular seeding" process.
Customers are global companies in the semiconductor and display industries. Revenue comes from materials research and development, licensing and large-scale manufacture of QD materials for mass-market applications in sensing and display.
Nanoco was founded in 2001 as a spin-out from the University of Manchester and is headquartered in Runcorn, UK, where its production facility is certified to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. The company is listed on the London Stock Exchange (LSE:NANO) and holds around 270 granted and pending patents. It hires graduate and PhD scientists in chemistry, physics and materials science, and takes on undergraduate interns.
