About Monumental
Monumental designs, builds and operates a fleet of autonomous robots that lay bricks on live construction sites. The robots run on Atrium, the company's integrated software stack, and the company describes its product as vertically integrated, with its own robot hardware, software and machine vision pipeline.
Customers are construction sites in the Netherlands and the UK, where the company says its robots have built walls for 100+ homes, a school, a community center, a hotel and 150+ m of canals. The website states it has raised more than $60 million from investors including Khosla Ventures, Plural, Hummingbird, Northzone, Foundamental and NP-Hard.
Monumental was founded in 2021 by Salar and Sebas and is based in the Plantage area of Amsterdam, with an in-house workshop and robot testing facility. The company reports more than 130 people and 100+ robots, and works across the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and the United States. Open roles cover hardware, software, deployment operations, and company operations, including hub roles in Groningen and a first US pilot in San Antonio, Texas.
Product: Autonomous brick-laying robots and the Atrium software stack for live construction sites.
