About Modulr Finance

Modulr provides a payments automation platform that connects payment infrastructure to an API. Its products cover payroll, accounts payable, spend management with company cards and receipt capture, and collections through recurring payments. A travel supplier payments offering and a lending and wage advance solution are also listed.

Customers include businesses that run their own payments, accountants and their clients, lenders, and travel companies. The website states that more than 6,000 businesses use the platform. Pricing is set as monthly bundle plans with included payment counts and per-payment fees beyond those, plus FX and international payment charges. International payments and foreign exchange are provided by The Currency Cloud Limited.

Modulr was founded in December 2016. It holds a UK electronic money institution licence from the Financial Conduct Authority and a Dutch EMI licence, and has announced branches in France and Spain. Offices are in London, Edinburgh, Amsterdam, Mumbai and Pune, and the company reports over 400 staff. It has 27 open roles, mainly in technology in Pune, and in compliance operations, finance, product, marketing, sales and legal in London, Amsterdam and Mumbai.
