Modig Machine Tool

MODIG Machine Tool develops, engineers and manufactures machining centers, including horizontal, vertical and inverted machines, along with multi-spindle and extrusion machining systems such as Mill-Ex. It also offers machine tool automation, fixtures, upgrades, refurbishments and aftermarket service packages (MODIG Care and MODIG Service).

Customers are manufacturers in aerospace, automotive, energy, space, construction and heavy equipment, with applications such as battery trays, crash components and aluminum extrusion parts. The company sells machines as turnkey solutions combining machine, fixture and automation, and earns revenue from machine sales as well as aftermarket services, spare parts, training and technical support.

The company was founded in 1947 by four brothers in Virserum, Sweden, and is family-owned, currently led by third-generation president David Modig. It states that it has sold over 11,000 machines and has representatives in 36 countries. Machines are built in Kalmar, Sweden, and spare parts are held in Sweden, the US and by local distributors.
