About ModemTec
ModemTec develops measurement and diagnostic solutions for the energy sector. Its PD Doctor line provides continuous online partial discharge monitoring of insulation in MV/HV cables, switchgear, transformers and generators, using synchronous multi-phase measurement. Its power line communication modems carry data over existing LV and MV power lines for smart metering, substation control and industrial applications.
Customers are grid operators and asset owners. The portfolio includes the PD Doctor Analyzer, Coupler, Application and Server (OPC UA compatible), and the MT-MVPLC2, MT49S and MT-LVPLC1 PLC modems.
The company was founded in 1991 and is headquartered in Třinec, near Ostrava, Czech Republic. It also has R&D centres in Brno and Prague. It started with low voltage power line communication in 1999 and its solutions are deployed in more than 40 countries.
