Midsummer

Midsummer develops and manufactures flexible, silicon-free CIGS thin-film solar panels for roofs. Three models are offered for different roof types: BOLD for bitumen and plastic membrane roofs, SLIM for seam metal roofs, and WAVE for two-piece roof tiles. The company also sells DUO, a turnkey production system for thin-film solar cells.

Customers include owners of private villas, multi-family houses and industrial buildings, who can retrofit the panels onto an existing roof or install them during a full roof replacement. The website also describes a campaign in which roofing material is included at no cost when SLIM or WAVE is installed during a roof change. DUO is offered to manufacturers, who can test the system at Midsummer's factory before delivery.

Midsummer states that it produces panels in its own facilities in Järfälla, outside Stockholm, and in Bari, Italy, and that its BOLD-S model is made with OEM partners in Asia. The website describes the company as Swedish-developed and cites a third-party reviewed life-cycle assessment from 2020. Open positions listed for the Bari site include production operators, service technicians and service engineers.
