About MANGAN Chvaletice
MANGAN Chvaletice, s.r.o. is preparing a project to recycle manganese-bearing waste rock (tailings) stored in the Chvaletice-Trnávka tailings pond, left over from pyrite mining in the 1950s to 1970s, and to produce high-purity manganese products. The company received an exploration licence in 2015 and has been preparing the recycling project since 2016. According to the website, key permits for the project were secured in June 2026.
The planned products are aimed at lithium-ion battery and battery storage manufacturers, the defence industry and the European electric-vehicle market, with a stated focus on traceable origin. The company works with Canadian company Euro Manganese Inc., under whose sponsorship the production plant is being prepared, and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development has provided a capital investment to support project preparation.
The company was founded in 1997 and has its registered seat in Chvaletice, Pardubice Region. The plant is planned in the EP Chvaletice industrial area, and the company states it expects to create up to 400 new jobs after production starts. MANGAN Chvaletice is part of a foreign group.
