About Manchester Camerata
Manchester Camerata is a registered charity orchestra based at The Monastery in Gorton, Manchester. It performs classical and cross-disciplinary concerts, collaborates with artists such as Pet Shop Boys, and leads on music, health and wellbeing work, including the Music in Mind programme for people living with dementia.
Its audiences are concert-goers, and its community work serves care homes, education providers, schools and people living with dementia and their carers. The orchestra is funded by donations and supporter income, and it can be hired for performances. Its Music Director is Gábor Takács-Nagy.
The company was founded in 1973. Music in Mind was developed with The University of Manchester and is grounded in over 12 years of research. The orchestra is currently recruiting a Senior Marketing Officer and seeks volunteers for office and front-of-house roles.
