About Macardo Swiss Distillery

Macardo Swiss Distillery GmbH distils whisky, gin, rum, vodka, vermouth, fruit brandies (Vieilles) and grape-marc spirits (Trester) in Strohwilen, Thurgau. The company says it distils by hand in small batches, uses wood and fire, and sources its grain and fruit from neighbouring Thurgau farms.

Products are sold at the distillery's walk-in shop and through its own spirits range. Beyond spirits, the company runs the Honesty Bar & Cigar Lounge, guided distillery tours, brunches, grill courses and a 174 m² event location for up to 100 people. It also operates a bed and breakfast with 10 rooms and two apartments. Customers include private consumers, companies and families booking events, and overnight guests.

The business was started in 2007 by Marco Frauchiger and Bernardo Lamberti in a former cheese dairy in Strohwilen. Andy and Martina Bössow acquired it in 2015. The company is headquartered in Amlikon-Bissegg and currently lists an open position for cleaning staff at its bed and breakfast.

Product: Single malt and Swiss Thurbon whisky, gin, rum, vodka, vermouth, fruit and grape-marc brandies, plus tours, events, brunches and bed and breakfast stays.
