About Lumibird

Lumibird is a laser technology group that designs, manufactures and distributes solid-state lasers, laser diodes and fiber lasers. Its Photonics division covers brands including Quantel, Keopsys, Convergent, SensUp and Halo Photonics, with applications in defence and space, environmental monitoring, topography, security, industrial production and science. Its Medical division (Lumibird Medical, Ellex, Optotek Medical) offers diagnostic and treatment laser solutions, mainly in ophthalmology.

The group sells to defence and space programmes, industrial and lidar sensor users, research laboratories, universities and ophthalmology clinics, and runs an international sales and customer support network. In 2025 it reported annual revenue of 225.6 M€. In July 2026 it announced exclusive negotiations to sell its medical division to IPG Photonics Corporation.

The group was formed in October 2017 by the merger of Keopsys and Quantel and was renamed Lumibird when it moved to Euronext in May 2018 under the ticker LBIRD. Its headquarters is in Lannion, France, and the careers pages list offices in Cournon d'Auvergne, France and Bozeman, United States. The company states it has over 1,000 employees and R&D and production sites on several continents.
