About Ludenso

Ludenso builds the Ludenso AI Assistant (LAIA), which indexes publishers' textbooks in formats such as PDF, EPUB and XML and uses them as the source for AI answers. Responses cite textbook passages, and model-generated content is labelled. LAIA can work with LLMs such as OpenAI, Claude or DeepSeek, and the company states that publisher data is processed in a localised environment and is not shared with external providers.

Its customers are educational publishers, who can deploy LAIA as a student-facing tutor, an educator's assistant or an editorial workflow tool. It can be white-labelled with the publisher's branding, launched standalone or embedded in an e-reader or platform, and API access is available for enterprise clients.

Ludenso AS was founded in 2018 and is headquartered in Oslo, Norway. The website states that it has worked with more than 30 publishers and has served learners in more than 150 countries. Named partners include Cambridge University Press and Assessment, Infinitas Learning, SAGE Publishing and Aschehoug.

Product: The Ludenso AI Assistant (LAIA): a retrieval-based AI assistant built on publishers' textbooks, offered as a white-label solution with API access for enterprise clients.
