About Light Structures

Light Structures develops fiber-optic systems that monitor hull stress, ice loads, sloshing and other structural conditions. Its SENSFIB systems provide real-time monitoring, while its Integrated Marine Monitoring System combines multiple monitoring solutions with DNV Hybrid Digital Twin technology.

Customers include commercial, offshore, navy and coast guard vessel operators, as well as oil and gas companies. The company also provides onshore data-management services for asset maintenance planning.

Founded in 2001 as a spin-off from the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment, Light Structures AS is headquartered in Oslo and presents locations in Tunisia, the USA, Singapore and Canada. Its monitoring systems have received ABS SMART SHM Tier 3 notation.
