About Lifecare
Lifecare develops miniaturized, implantable nanobiosensors that measure glucose and other biomarkers. Its Sencell sensor, about the size of a grain of rice, reads glucose-induced osmotic pressure changes in the subcutaneous tissue for continuous glucose monitoring, with a stated lifetime of at least six months. The company also develops and licenses its nanotechnology for medical use to support the production and sale of medical devices.
The company focuses on diabetes and targets people and pets with diabetes. Its subsidiary Lifecare Veterinary adapts the sensor technology for the veterinary market. The website also presents RemovAid, an ISO 13485:2016 certified company that develops, manufactures and distributes devices for removing subdermal implants.
Lifecare was founded in 2006 and is headquartered in Blomsterdalen, Norway. It is listed on Euronext Oslo Børs under the ticker LIFE. Research and development is carried out in Mainz and Reutlingen, Germany, with a chemistry lab in Bristol, UK. Recent news covers in-house implant manufacturing at new facilities in Bergen.
Product: Sencell, a miniature implantable glucose sensor for continuous glucose monitoring, plus licensed nanosensor technology for medical devices.
