Lender Exchange is a secure web portal through which law firms exchange information with lenders in connection with managing conveyancing panels. Lenders can collect panel application and update information from law firms in one shared system instead of requesting similar information separately. The portal was designed by Decision First.
Customers are law firms and the banks and building societies that run conveyancing panels. Lloyds Banking Group and Santander were the first lenders to use the system, and other lenders followed. The site describes a simple fee structure for law firms and lists reduced administration, improved communication and easy access to mortgage documentation as benefits. Consumers and brokers can also use the site to look for a law firm.
The service was launched in 2014. Its stated purpose is to reduce fraud risk for lenders and law firms through the validation of information and verification of identity.
