About Kime Akva

KIME Akva AS farms Atlantic cod (torsk) in Northern Norway, with sea sites in several municipalities and hatchery (settefiskanlegg) facilities in Nesna and Senja. The fish are slaughtered at Vesterålen Havbruk, and fresh cod is supplied throughout the year.

The company describes its farmed cod as a sustainable premium food product and is working to qualify it for the sushi and sashimi market. It has a sales and marketing agreement with Nergård to develop existing markets and establish new ones.

KIME Akva AS was founded in 2020 and is headquartered in Finnsnes. Its sea sites are in Ibestad (Forså, established 2022; Aspelia, 2025), Senja (Gryllefjord, 2024), Alta (Hallarnes, 2025) and Nesna (Sandvika), with further sites in Frøya (Fagerhamn) and Hammerfest (Segelnes, awarded autumn 2026).

The company had 47 employees at the end of 2025 and expects this to grow to over 90 by 2030. Current openings are for a site developer, a hatchery operations technician, a production coordinator and a technical manager.
