KAYAK

KAYAK is a travel metasearch service that searches flights, hotels, rental cars and related travel offers across hundreds of travel sites at once and displays the results for comparison. It also provides price alerts and a Trips feature that builds an itinerary from forwarded booking confirmations. According to the website, KAYAK does not sell or process tickets or reservations; travelers book with the provider.

The customers are travelers, both leisure and business, who use the website and mobile apps to search. The company works with airlines, hotels, car rental companies and online travel agencies that supply prices and availability, and states that there is no extra fee from KAYAK for travelers.

The about page states that KAYAK was founded in 2004 and lists 800+ team members, 15 international offices, 60+ international sites, 25+ site languages and 7 managed brands, including momondo, Cheapflights, Swoodoo, checkfelix, Mundi and HotelsCombined. Its corporate HQ is in Stamford, Connecticut, and the site lists further offices in Berlin, Cambridge and Concord (MA), Copenhagen, Kaunas, Vilnius, London, Miami, Norwalk, Sydney, Zurich, Barcelona, Hong Kong, São Paulo and Seoul. The careers page lists 40 open positions, mostly in software engineering, data science and engineering management, with others in supplier relations, finance systems, marketing and compliance. KAYAK is part of Booking Holdings, Inc.
