About Katrin valanta

Katrin valanta runs an open ceramics and art studio in Sörnäinen, Helsinki. Members can work independently without booking, at any hour, and the studio sells clay, offers a firing service in high-fire kilns of 450, 230 and 60 litres, and runs courses.

Revenue comes from annual and seasonal memberships (3, 6 and 12 months, priced per person or per group), drop-in use, courses, and the rental of studio and gallery space for exhibitions, company gatherings and private events for up to 60 people. Members get free teaching workshops on Tuesdays or Thursdays from 17:30 to 19:30, while non-members pay 20 € per person. Payments can be made by Epassi, Edenred and Klarna.

The studio occupies about 600 square metres on one level, roughly 200 metres from a metro station, in a nearly century-old building that was once home to the poet Katri Vala. Bicycles and strollers can be stored inside. The company was founded in 2026 and is based in Helsinki.

Product: Open-access ceramics workshop with memberships, courses, kiln firing, clay sales and gallery and event space rental.
