About Kapsys
Kapsys is a French company that designs and sells digital mobility and communication devices for blind and visually impaired people. Its current product is KapX, a lightweight wearable headset that gives real-time object and obstacle notification and 3D audio navigation cues for walking outdoors. The range also includes the SmartVision3 smartphone, with a touch screen, physical keypad and voice control, and the MiniVision2+ feature phone, which is fully vocalized.
Customers are blind and visually impaired people. Kapsys sells its devices through a distribution network, and its products are available in more than 20 countries.
The company was created in 2007 by Aram Hékimian, a telecommunications entrepreneur and former co-founder of Wavecom, and is based in Mougins in the Sophia-Antipolis technology park. Its earlier products include the KAPTEN voice-controlled GPS navigation devices, launched from 2008. KapX was made available in June 2026.
