About Ix Wireless
IX Wireless builds fixed wireless broadband networks in the UK. Overhead fibre cables carry the signal, which is then sent wirelessly to a transmitter fitted on each property. Builds do not require digging up or closing roads.
The company supplies broadband connections to residential and commercial premises in the North West of England. It also provides free connections to charities, schools and community groups through its Internet for Everyone scheme, which it runs with local organisations and councils.
IX Wireless was founded in 2017 and is headquartered in Blackburn. Its networks cover Blackburn with Darwen, Burnley, Nelson, Accrington, Thornton-Cleveleys, Fleetwood and Blackpool. The company reports more than 250,000 properties passed, and its Blackburn network launched in 2020.
Product: Fixed wireless broadband service combining overhead fibre and wireless transmission to properties
