Interspectrum

Interspectrum designs and manufactures optical and FTIR spectroscopy instruments. Its product lines are FTIR and FT-NIR benchtop, portable and modular spectrometers, including educational, forensic, drugs and plastics models and a diffuse reflectance unit. It also sells FTIR accessories, infrared sources, off-axis mirrors, interference filters and the Interspec software for Windows.

Its instruments are used in analytical chemistry, material research, medical research, food science, applied physics, environmental and academic research. They are sold through regional sales representatives or directly, and also through OEM and other partnership channels, which include custom FTIR spectrometers built for specific applications.

The company was founded in 1996 and is based in Tartu, Estonia; it states that it has been designing and manufacturing spectroscopy instruments since 1991. It describes a team of 7 engineers. Interspectrum has taken part in EU research projects, including coordinating FP5 project POSA DWDM, partnering in FP7 project ADWISE and Horizon 2020 project INITIO, and leading the Interreg project SpectroSreen on remote breast cancer screening using FTIR spectroscopy.
