Inspekt Molab

Inspekt Molab AS is an independent materials testing laboratory in Mo i Rana, Norway, accredited to NS-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2017 (scope TEST 323). Accredited tests include tensile testing of metals, reinforcement testing, weld bend testing, Charpy impact testing, hardness measurement, pitting and crevice corrosion testing, and macro and micro examination of welds.

Other services include cut-edge inspection after thermal cutting, CTOD testing, hot tensile testing, fatigue and straining tests, grain size measurement, heat treatment, failure investigations and concrete compression testing. The laboratory works for industrial, construction and technical organisations and sells testing and documentation services.

The business traces back to Norsk Jernverk AS in Mo i Rana (1955). Molab was separated as its own company in 1989 and later belonged to the SINTEF group. In 2022 the materials laboratory was split off from Nemko Norlab and joined Testpartner Gruppen, which became part of Nordic Inspekt Group AB in 2025. Inspekt Molab AS was founded in 2023. Building materials testing (aggregates, concrete, asphalt) is carried out by the Geolab department in Mosjøen.
