About Inflowcontrol

InflowControl is a Norwegian technology company that develops autonomous inflow control technology for oil wells. Its core product, the AICV® valve, actively restricts unwanted water and gas downhole while maximising oil production. The product range also includes a pressure-activated valve system, an injection module, a high-rate injection check valve, a reversible pressure-activated valve and sand control screens.

Customers are oil and gas operators developing production and injection wells. The company integrates engineering, R&D, subsurface and manufacturing in-house and delivers AICV® liners (base pipe with valve and sand screen filter) worldwide from several approved manufacturing locations.

InflowControl was founded in 2011 by Vidar Mathiesen, Haavard Aakre and Bjørnar Werswick, and is headquartered in Porsgrunn, Norway. Saudi Aramco Energy Ventures invested in the company in 2013. The company reports more than 400 AICV® wells deployed globally as of its 2025 milestone.
