About Impact Recycling
Impact Recycling turns hard-to-recycle post-consumer plastic into recycled polymers using its patented BOSS water-based density separation technology. It produces recycled HDPE, LDPE and PP and regrinds for injection moulding, blow moulding and extrusion, and it also licenses BOSS to recycling partners as a full package covering plant design, engineering, commissioning and operator training.
Its three commercial routes are recycling of waste plastic feedstock from waste generators, sale of recycled products to manufacturers, and licensing of BOSS technology to processors. BOSS is also offered as a front-end sorting step for chemical recycling operators. Licensees include Purecycle Technologies in the USA and Syklo in Finland, where a 50,000 tonne per year plant in Hyvinkää began operations in July 2026.
The company was founded in 2014 as a spin-out from Impact Laboratories and is headquartered in Bellshill, Scotland. Its UK plants are in Newcastle, Durham and Glasgow. Investors include IW Capital and LG Chem, and the company has received grant funding from the EU and Innovate UK.
