About Hiil

Hiil is a Finnish company that chars wood surfaces with open fire and finishes them with flax oil. Its products are facade cladding, interior panelling, sauna boards, terrace decking and outdoor furniture. The standard range has 12 shades in panel, board and plank formats, and custom thicknesses, widths and lengths are available on request.

The company sells to architects, designers and builders, and directs consumers to its dealers. Its recycled Kiertopuu® line uses sawmill and construction-industry side streams. Referenced projects include Halo Igloos Resort in Rovaniemi, the TRIB3 Helsinki Sture studio and the Kuusijärvi smoke saunas in Vantaa.

Hiil was founded in 2023. The company holds a patentable charring process and states a 10-year warranty against rot for outdoor cladding when properly installed.

Product: Charred and oiled pine wood cladding, panelling, sauna boards, terrace boards and outdoor furniture parts
