About Heredis

Heredis develops genealogy software for building family trees, managing documents and sources, and producing printed or shareable family histories. The product runs on Windows and macOS, with iOS and Android apps. The Heredis 2027 release adds automatic AI transcription and translation of records and a 64-bit Windows version.

Its customers are amateur and professional genealogists, and the website states that 200,000 people use the software each day. Revenue comes from sales of the Standard and Pro desktop editions and paid upgrades, as well as a Compétence USB key with training videos. The company also offers Heredis Online, a web service for ancestor searches and a community.

Heredis was founded in 1994 and is headquartered in Montpellier, France. It has published 36 full versions of the software and has operated as a worker cooperative (SCOP) for 12 years. Training is also offered through about 150 partner genealogy associations.

Product: Heredis genealogy software for building family trees, managing records and sources, and publishing family histories, with Windows, macOS, iOS and Android versions.
