About Heiq

HeiQ develops advanced material technologies, including biotechnology-enabled performance chemistries, textile treatments, cleaning products, coatings and industrial chemicals. Product areas include textiles, home care, personal care, water treatment, batteries and electronics, building and construction, and defense and aerospace. It also offers innovation services that take a material concept to a validated solution under milestone-based projects with defined intellectual property terms.

Customers are brands and manufacturers; the company states that its technologies power product launches for more than 300 global brands in over 60 countries. HeiQ also grants patent licences to partners, such as antimicrobial overprint varnishes licensed to security printers.

HeiQ was founded in 2005 as a spin-off from ETH Zurich by Carlo Centonze and Murray Height, and describes itself as a Swiss deeptech materials innovator. It was listed on the London Stock Exchange in 2020 and returned to private ownership in 2024. The group has operations in Australia, the USA, Belgium, Germany, Thailand, South Korea and China, including Shanghai. Its registered UK company, HEIQ LIMITED, is headquartered in London.
