About Granus

Granus develops hardware and software that automatically read data from physical identity and travel documents (ID cards, driving licences, passports) and from electronic eDoklady, then pass the data into client systems. Its product range includes document scanners and readers, document authenticity checkers, a virtual keyboard and a visitor registration system.

Customers include banks and financial institutions, hotels, car rental companies, casinos and gaming halls, public authorities, and software developers who add document reading to their own products. The company sells reading devices and software licences and provides installation, integration, training, remote support and software updates.

Granus was founded in 2003 and is registered in Prague, where it is headquartered. It began with biometric verification and later focused on reading identity documents. The website states that it supplies the National Cyber and Information Security Agency (NBÚ) and the Ministry of Defence, and that up to 10 team members work on a project.
