About Founders Foundation

Founders Foundation gGmbH runs B2B startup education, accelerator programs and a startup ecosystem in Bielefeld, Germany, based on its self-described Founders Foundation Education Model. It also organises the Hinterland of Things tech conference, first held in 2018, and the EdTech Next academy and summit.

The foundation describes itself as a non-profit organisation that takes no shares in the companies it supports. Its programs are aimed at founders and early-stage startups, and it runs a co-working space, the Pioneers Club, and a startup centre called the Founders Home. The website states that the foundation is a subsidiary of the Bertelsmann Stiftung and is financed by it.

The foundation was founded in 2016 as a gGmbH by Sebastian Borek, Dominik Gross and the Bertelsmann Stiftung. Its Founders Home in Bielefeld's old town spans four floors and 2,500 m². The careers page lists open positions including a (Senior) Communications Manager and a "Name your job" role, both in Bielefeld, and the website describes contracts that are usually initially fixed-term for two years.

Product: Founder education programs, accelerator tracks, the Hinterland of Things conference, EdTech Next academy and summit, and co-working space at the Founders Home in Bielefeld.
