Foodsight

Foodsight, operated by Positive Carbon Ltd, makes food waste monitoring hardware and software for commercial kitchens. The Scrappy sensor sits above a bin and automatically photographs, identifies and weighs each discarded item, then sends the data to a dashboard that shows waste cost, trends and CO2 impact. The AI recognises over 2,400 food items, and staff can correct identifications.

Customers are commercial kitchens and food service companies; case studies on the site cite Levy Ireland and Convention Centre Dublin. Revenue comes from a monthly subscription per unit: €599 for the first unit and €399 for each additional unit, covering hardware, installation, software, unlimited users and maintenance, on a 1-year contract.

Foodsight announced that Positive Carbon has become Foodsight. The company is registered in Ireland and is hiring a Content Creator & Social Media Manager based in Dublin.

Product: Scrappy, a plug-and-play AI waste sensor above a bin with 4G connectivity, plus a live waste dashboard with cost, weight and CO2 reporting.
