Flux245 develops microwave pyrolysis technology to convert plastic waste that is difficult to recycle mechanically into pyrolysis oil. The oil can be used as a raw material to make new polymer resin.

The company works with waste management and petrochemical partners across the supply chain. Flux245 began as an R&D project within Sylatech and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sylatech Ltd.

Flux245 Ltd was incorporated in 2024 and is based in Kirkbymoorside, United Kingdom. Its development history includes laboratory- and pilot-scale plants, and it is collaborating with the Centre for Process Engineering on an industrial production prototype.
