FLORCENTER

Florcenter operates a garden centre at Šlechtitelů 802 in Olomouc-Holice. It grows greenhouse plants, including balcony and bedding flowers, potted chrysanthemums, Christmas stars, herbs and vegetable seedlings, and also sells plants from other Czech and foreign growers. The range covers substrates, pots, fertilisers, garden equipment and decorations, and the site includes a café.

Customers are home gardeners, hobbyists and professional gardeners who buy in store. The site also lists gift vouchers in 300, 500 and 1000 CZK denominations and home delivery by arrangement within Olomouc and its surroundings. Revenue comes from retail sales of plants and garden goods, with the café as an on-site offering.

The company was founded as FLORCENTER, s.r.o. in 1992 on part of the former Sempra Olomouc site, and traces the cultivation tradition on the site back to 1953. The greenhouses cover 2.74 hectares, and the website states that more than 500 plant species and varieties are grown there each year. The centre is open all year, every day. At the time of the snapshot it was recruiting a cut-flower department staff member and a greenhouse gardener.
