About Flex

Flexible Finance, Inc., operating as Flex, makes a bill-payment app that lets users split rent, mortgage, car payments and everyday bills such as utilities, phone, internet, insurance and childcare into two smaller payments. Flex sends the biller the full amount upfront, and on-time rent payments can be reported to TransUnion, Experian and Equifax.

Its customers are US renters and households that pay recurring monthly bills. Revenue comes from a membership fee of up to $5.99 a month (rent only), a 0.5% processing fee on the bill amount, and a split fee of up to 3% on the amount borrowed. Credit card payments carry a 2.5% surcharge. The company states that it has served 3.5 million customers and processed more than $45 billion in payments. Its lines of credit and payment services are provided by Lead Bank and Column N.A.
