About Fiskher
FISKHER AS develops Fishbuddy, a mobile fishing app. Users photograph a catch to identify the species, and use patented AR technology to measure its length and weight. The app also shows fishing spots on maps that combine local anglers' knowledge, machine learning and satellite data, and logs catches as citizen-science data.
Individual anglers use the app, with Premium access sold through Apple and Google app subscriptions. The company is contracted by the Norwegian Coast Guard for its patented AR and AI technology, and offers licensing of that technology for marine tourism and education, as well as SaaS tools for fisheries monitoring, enforcement and compliance.
The company was founded in 2019 and is headquartered in Lillesand, Norway. It launched the app under the Fiskher name in Norway in 2020, followed by Denmark and Sweden in 2021 and Germany in 2022. Fishbuddy by Fiskher launched on 1 June 2023 and is also available in the Netherlands and Florida. The website reports more than 1,000,000 downloads.
Product: Fishbuddy mobile app with AI and AR fish identification and measurement, fishing spot maps, catch logging, and licensed technology for coast guards and authorities.
