About findus-internet-opac.de
Findus is a media search program for municipal and city libraries. It takes data from the library's management system, transfers it to the internet through a proxy server, and gives readers an online catalogue of media, reader accounts and Top 20 loan lists. Readers can also receive e-mail notices when media return to stock. The software runs on the vendor's server, and it works with the Bibliotheca (OCLC) and Winbiap library systems.
Customers are public libraries. The website says more than 230 libraries use Findus, including the municipal libraries in Pfarrkirchen, Zirndorf and Ansbach. Pricing combines a one-time licence fee and installation with an annual fee scaled by the number of media, from up to 25,000 to more than 100,000 items. A software rental option includes installation, licence and travel costs in one annual fee.
The website reports over 3.8 million media and more than 1 million reader accounts available for search, with about 2.5 million accesses per month.
Product: Web OPAC (online public access catalogue) search program for library media and reader accounts, hosted on the vendor's server and sold by licence or rental.
