Entoprot

Entoprot provides technology for converting industrial organic side streams and bio-waste into raw materials for animal feed and pet food. Its patented EntoReactor bioreactor rears Black Soldier Fly larvae, which serve as a source of protein and oil, while the rest of the process output is used as fertilizer. The larvae can also be used for biodiesel and bioactive compound production.

Customers include retail and wholesale businesses, food producers, feed and pet food manufacturers, agriculture and farming operations, and waste management operators. Entoprot's pricing is based on three elements: expert services for planning and implementation, the reactor purchase price including delivery, and an annual recurring support fee. The offering also includes breeding cages and rooms, and media for culturing, storing and shipping Black Soldier Fly material.

Entoprot is headquartered in Oulu, Finland, and was founded in 2017. The company states that its customers are located in Europe and in other regions worldwide. It describes the rearing cycle as 9-14 days and says that producing 100 tons of fresh larvae per day requires 25-30 workers.
