About Embelin

Embelin develops its own IoT platform that connects physical products to the cloud for remote monitoring and control. It also provides embedded hardware and software development for device manufacturers, and offers its own products Saili, a remote monitoring and control system for boats, and Sneak, a bicycle backlight with an integrated alarm.

Customers are device manufacturers who want connectivity added to their products; Webasto, which sells the ThermoConnect remote control for car auxiliary heaters, is named as a partner, and Proventia is named as a customer for emission data monitoring on buses and trucks. The company's stated approach is a pilot project followed by full-scale implementation. Own products are sold to boat and bicycle owners.

Embelin was founded in 1997 as SSE Simula Sormunen Engineering Oy and rebranded as Embelin in 2010. Its headquarters are in Oulu, Finland. The company states it is hiring software and hardware developers and students, and it lists ISO 9001 certification of its quality management system.

Product: Embelin IoT Platform for device connectivity, plus Saili boat monitoring system and Sneak bicycle alarm backlight
