About Eldion
Eldion makes battery-free wireless industrial IoT devices. A clamp-on or magnetic unit mounts on the outside of a hot pipe or surface without process intervention, converts the heat into electricity, powers a standard wired measurement instrument from any manufacturer, and transmits readings over LoRaWAN, WirelessHART, ISA100.11a or BLE. Stated specifications include a surface range of 30–250 °C and power output tested up to 868 mW.
The company targets industrial operators with hot process equipment and offers selected pilot partnerships that require a temperature difference (ΔT) above 20 °C, with free installation and equipment during the pilot. A prototype was in operation at Hydro Husnes in October 2026, and a first prototype was reported in operation at Hydro Aluminium on 5 October 2026. The company presents a calculated saving of more than USD 1 million on one offshore installation, where one in six measurement points is wireless.
Eldion was founded in 2024 and is headquartered in Sæbøvik, Norway. Its listed team members have backgrounds in automation, robotics and cybernetics, including roles at ABB Robotics, Siemens Energy and Aker Solutions, and the company works with an academic mentor from the University of Stavanger.
Product: Clamp-on or magnetic thermoelectric sensor unit that powers wired industrial instruments and sends their measurements wirelessly.
