About ECOM Trading

ECOM is a family-owned soft commodity merchant trading coffee, cocoa, cotton, and nuts and ingredients. It sources directly from farmers and provides primary processing, logistics and risk management services. Its cocoa business grinds beans into cocoa mass, butter and powder, and its ECOM Risk Management unit offers hedge advisory services.

Its customers include branded product manufacturers, roasters, and chocolate and food companies, which it supplies with commodities and processed products. The group describes its sustainability programmes, run through its SMS arm, as focused on farm-level productivity and quality.

ECOM traces its history back more than 175 years and operates in more than 40 countries. It employs more than a thousand agronomists and field staff and reports more than 6,000 employees worldwide. Its Dutch Cocoa processing business has a facility in the Netherlands, and the group opened a Cocoa Experience Center in Amsterdam in 2024. Current job openings span finance, IT, operations, logistics and field roles across several countries.
