About E2B
E2B provides an isolated microVM, called a sandbox, for each AI agent session. Developers control it through SDKs and an API to run code, manage files, network access, secrets, and pause or resume. The website says the runtime is Apache-2.0 open source and built on Firecracker.
Customers are developers and teams building AI agents, including coding, data analysis, computer-use and reinforcement learning workloads. Sandboxes are billed by the second, with a free Hobby tier, a $150 per month Pro plan, and custom Enterprise contracts that include deployment in the customer's own AWS, GCP or Azure account.
E2B was founded in 2023 and is headquartered in San Francisco, with a Prague office; its legal name is FoundryLabs, Inc. The careers page lists 14 open roles, mostly engineering, in San Francisco and Prague. The website reports a Series A in July 2025 led by Insight Partners and a seed round in October 2024.
Product: Cloud and self-hostable sandbox runtime: a microVM per AI agent session, controlled through Python and JavaScript SDKs and an API.
