About DONS Opvang

DONS Opvang runs creative after-school care (buitenschoolse opvang) held inside schools. Afternoons combine play, storytelling and art across theatre, dance, music, visual arts and movement, led by art teachers (kunstvakdocenten). Each eight-week block ends with a closing event such as a performance or exhibition.

Its customers are children attending the programme and their parents, who enroll the children. The company describes DONS as an acronym for Doorlopende Ontwikkeling Na School. A recent project, VITRINES, placed an exhibition in more than thirty shop windows in Amsterdam's Nieuwmarktbuurt, based on work by children from several DONS locations.

The company says it has been operating for 16 years. It is currently recruiting art teachers (kunstvakdocenten) for locations in Amsterdam and Bussum.

Product: Creative after-school care (buitenschoolse opvang) programme in schools, combining play with art, theatre, dance, music and movement.
