Diabeloop

Diabeloop develops automated insulin delivery systems based on artificial intelligence for people with type 1 diabetes. Its DBLG2 System is a smartphone app that uses readings from a compatible glucose sensor every 5 minutes to adjust the insulin delivered by a compatible insulin pump. The company also offers DBLG1, its earlier system with a dedicated terminal, and YourLoops, an ecosystem where users and healthcare professionals share diabetes data.

Its users are adults living with type 1 diabetes and the healthcare professionals who work with them. Partners include insulin pump makers ViCentra, Roche, SOOIL and Terumo, Dexcom for glucose sensors, and Glooko XT for remote data. The company reports more than 15,000 cumulative users of DBLG1 and DBLG2 since 2021.

Diabeloop was founded in 2015 in Grenoble, France, by Dr Guillaume Charpentier and Erik Huneker, and grew out of a research project. It raised 70 million euros in a third funding round in 2022. DBLG2 received CE marking under the EU Medical Device Regulation in August 2025 and FDA 510(k) clearance in December 2025. A European launch with Dexcom G7 was announced for Germany and the Netherlands in May 2026, and prescriptions there opened in July 2026.
